  1. I sailed from South Carolina to the Azores on a 35 ft sailboat in the year 2000. I had a wonderful time there, and I really enjoyed the islands! I remember visiting a museum that had a lot of antique pianos; but, I can’t remember the name of that museum. Do you know what museum that may have been?

  2. Your guide is the best I have read and know, my third visit will be April 21, 2022, just there February 10, 2022, great weather odd.

    1. Yayyyy so happy to hear that! I am craving a trip back to the Azores ASAP!! Hope your next visit is just as amazing!

  3. other than these tasty things to do mentioned here in this blog I have heard that as one of the nine islands in the Azores, Terceira boasts stunning viewpoints, the opportunity to explore the inside of volcano, to swim in natural rock pools and magnificent local wines to sample. This little island has a lot to offer – whether you’re an outdoor enthusiast itching to enjoy one of Terceira’s incredible hikes, or looking for a romantic getaway with your loved one. Instantly apply visa for Portugal, as soon as you get the visa, you can prepare your itinerary for travelling to Azores and other beautiful places in Portugal.

  4. Very nice article! You were able to get a lot of information into this guide. One little correction (I live here now) is that there are two Beira Mar restaurants, the one in Angra is called Restaurante Beira Mar and is attached to the Hotel Beira Mar, which is at “Estrada Gaspar Corte-Real 10, 9700-066 Angra do Heroísmo”, but it’s easiest to say “right at the water’s end of Rua São João.” The other one, Beira Mar in São Mateus, is in the town a few miles west of Angra and is considered to have the very best fish on the island, although both are very good. I’ll try to correct Google Maps. One detail regarding the Igreja de São Sebastião… the “recent” earthquake was 40 years ago in 1980, right? I wouldn’t want to scare people, thinking it was recent in human terms. Very well done article with many helpful details. There are non-stop flights to Terceira from Boston, Toronto, Porto, Lisbon, and in the summer, Oakland, CA. Thank you for sharing tips on the most beautiful island on earth!
